Incipient charnockitisation of an A-type granite protolith has been recognized in a spectacular outcrop 35 km north of Antananarivo. The charnockites form structurally-controlled dark greenish patches suggesting channelized fluid transfer, during and after partial reworking of the granite coeval with the Antananarivo virgation zone (ca Ma) and/or the Angavo shear zone of late-Panafrican. The collections may include summaries of presentations at scientific meetings or extended summaries on well defined topics compiled by editors or organizations.

Lliboutry, Sea‐floor spreading, continental drift and lithosphere sinking with an asthenosphere at melting point, Journal of Geophysical Research, /JBip, 74, 27, Cited by: 7.

The book focuses on basic principles and from there explain the recent advances within various geophysical exploration techniques, in an easy way with limited use of equations but with many.

This book marks the beginning of what we hope will be an annual series of volumes presenting articles concerning the social and intellectual history of the geophysical sciences, broadly defined.

It is a collection of materials appearing originally in the journals of the AGU and selected from issues published during the past 10 years or so.

Geophysical Research Abstracts (GRA) was the conference series publishing the abstracts accepted for the General Assemblies – of the European Geosciences Union (EGU).

It links the annual conference programmes listing programme groups, included sessions, and their contributions. The abstracts underwent an access review by the session.

A discussion of the two‐gas theory of the transmission of geomagnetic disturbances through the atmosphere (to several earth radii) is extended, with the following results: (i) The central problem concerning the main phase of a geomagnetic storm is the mechanism of penetration of solar ions into the geomagnetic explanation is given depending on a combination of a uniform electric.

A regional Bouguer gravity anomaly map of Alaska is interpreted in terms of variations in crustal structure and local geology. The crustal results are compared with those determined from seismic measurements in two areas in Alaska and one in Alberta, Canada.

The award is given annually to a reviewer who is recognized by a combination of high-quality and proficient reviews as judged by the Editor and Assistant Editors of GEOPHYSICS. Geophysical studies of the Caucasus need to cope with the mountainous environments of many of its regions and their inclined (oblique) magnetization in temperate latitudes. The uneven topography not only impedes geophysical surveys in mountainous areas due to poor accessibility, but also distorts the measurement results.
